The early 1960’s was the first golden era in Greely baseball history. The Rangers captured three straight League Championships, there was no State play-off format back then, including our only undefeated team in 1960. From 1960 to 1962, Greely went an impressive 23 wins, 2 losses.
The leader and dominant player of this era was Terry Snow. In 1960 as a sophomore, Terry went 6-0 as a pitcher including a 1 hitter with 16 strike-outs in the season ending, championship clincher over Windham.
As a freshmen, he worked strictly as a relief pitcher. As a starter in his last 3 years at Greely, Terry compiled a record of 14-1. He pitched 120 Innings, yielding 70 hits, 44 walks and struck-out 166 batters. He was no slouch at the plate either, batting .480, .444, .533 and .413 in his 4 years.
Now a well established and respected attorney operating on Main St. in Cumberland, Terry continues to be a supporter of Little League and high school baseball in Cumberland and has been for decades.
Terry was inducted in the Greely baseball Hall of Fame on June 2nd, 2007.
