The Rangers Take Opener With Late Rally (4/14/2003) - Kennebunk 2 at Greely 6

Senior Captain Halsey Lea stroked a RBI single with 2 outs in the sixth and junior Ryan Copp followed with a deep triple to left center to drive in 2 additional runs to break a 2-2 tie and the Rangers went on to a 5-2 win in the 2003 opener. Sophomore Jon Alley pitched 6 strong innings, striking-out 8 in his varsity debut. Halsey Lea pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for the save. The game was played in Gorham due to Greely's new field being unavailable. Freshmen Sam Green scored the winning run after reaching base in the sixth on a bunt and advancing to second on a balk.
