The Greely Rangers raced out to a 8-0 lead after an inning and a half and cruised to a 15-8 victory over Lincoln Academy to claim the school's seventh Western Maine Regional crown. Nate Martin hit a 2 RBI triple in the top of the first and Matt Labbe added a 2 RBI single to help build a 5-0 lead in the first. Kevin Hart smashed a long 2 run homerun off the light tower in left-center in the third and Labbe followed with another RBI single two batters later to push the lead to 8-0.
Pat Copp hit a 2 run double in the fifth and Ryan Howland crushed a solo homerun over the scoreboard to lead-off the sixth. Howland and Labbe added RBI singles in the seventh to cushion the lead. Senior Sam Stauber pitched six innings to earn his ninth win of the year. The nine wins ties a school record for most wins in a season and is the most since the institution of inning limitation rules.
