The Greely JV improved to 7-2 on the year with a 3-0 defeat of rival Cape Elizabeth. Jacob Whiting threw a no-hitter through 6 and 2/3 innings striking out 9. With two outs in the 7th, Whiting induced a ground ball that was misplayed, then had to be taken out of the game due to reaching the maximum pitch count. Nick Butler entered and needed to throw just one pitch, the Cape runner tried to steal second and Aiden Smith gunned him out for the win.

Cape threatened in the top of the 5th. After a lead off error then back to back-to-back walks, Whiting found himself in a bases loaded no-out jam. The next Cape batter hit a shallow fly ball to right which was caught by JP Sherr. The Cape runner on third base tagged, the throw came into First Baseman Joe Cimino who turned and froze the Cape runner halfway between third and home. As the Cape runner retreated to third Cimino threw to third baseman Ben Rosenthal to initiate a run down. Rosenthal threw home to catcher Aiden Smith who tagged out the runner at the plate. Smith spotted the Cape runner who started on second base trying to advance to third and threw to shortstop Nick Butler, who was alertly covering third base, to tag the runner out -- a 9-3-5-2-6 triple play to get out of the jam!

Greely was able to muster just one hit, Jack Libby''''s pinch hit single in the bottom of the 6th.
